Trigger Pull Consistency
The Sig Guy spring kits (green and purple lines) demonstrate significantly higher consistency than the Factory springs (red lines).
- Factory (Red): These readings show the widest variance, particularly in the "hump" of the pull (the staging area before the break). The peak force and travel distance to actuate vary noticeably between the three pulls.
- Duty-Weight (Green): These lines are tightly grouped, showing very little deviation in travel or force across all three tests.
- Competition-Weight (Purple): Similar to the duty-weight kit, these readings are nearly identical to one another, indicating a highly repeatable trigger feel.
Force and Travel Characteristics
The graph plots Force (lbs) on the Y-axis against Travel (inch) on the X-axis:
- Take-Up & Wall: All three spring sets share a similar initial take-up (the flat portion of the graph starting at 0).
- Peak Force (The Break):
- The Duty-Weight (Green) kit require the highest force to break, with peaks reaching higher on the Y-axis.
- The Factory (Red) springs have a lower peak force, providing the typical squishy trigger pull.
- The Competition-Weight (Purple) kit has the lowest peak force of the three, as expected for a competition-oriented setup.
- Reset & Overtravel: The "drop" after the peak force represents the trigger break and overtravel. The Sig Guy kits have a more uniform drop-off point compared to the factory springs, which have more staggered break points.
Summary Table (from bottom data):
The data at the bottom of the screen provides specific metrics for these runs:
- Peak Force: Varies from ~6.3 lbs for duty-weight spring kit, ~5.3 lbs for factory springs down to ~4.5 lbs for the competition spring kit.
- Lock Time: The Sig Guy kits show faster, more consistent lock times (around 2.30ms to 3.40ms) compared to some of the factory readings.
